This is the last way we envisioned we would be starting 2021, in a national lockdown for the third time in the past 12 months. Well, some of us saw it coming, but ‘we move’. We’ve powered through a lockdown before and we sure as hell can do it again.
If anything, we enter this new lockdown with more understanding and experienced than before. That’s not to say it won’t be tough, but we have some control over expectations this time round. We know what to expect in terms of self care, health and wellbeing and safety. We know how important it is to look out for ourselves and others. It’s not about making sure we are productive every minute of everyday, but being conscious about the attention our minds and bodies need.
I’ve decided 2021 is the year to battle my own demons and so I’ve created a ‘to do’ list for lockdown 3.0 to keep me busy and distracted:
HAVE A BATH
DO A FACEMASK
READ A BOOK
PLAY A GAME
MEDITATE
DO SOME YOGA
WATCH SOME TV
WRITE SOMETHING
GET CREATIVE
CLEAN SOMETHING
ORGANISE STUFF
GO FOR A WALK
FACETIME / CALL FRIENDS & FAMILY
COOK / BAKE SOMETHING
DO A HOME WORKOUT
START A VISIONBOARD
LEARN A NEW SKILL
RESEARCH SOMETHING OF INTEREST
DO YOUR NAILS
WASH YOUR HAIR
DO SOME SELF CARE ACTIVITIES
LISTEN TO A PODCAST
DO A PUZZLE
DO SOME COLOURING
PRACTICE MANIFESTATION
DE-CLUTTER
REFLECT
Remember that you’re never alone and this won’t last forever. There’s no pressure to be productive during this lockdown, just put yourself and your needs first. We’re so close to the end, even if it doesn’t feel like it.
We’ll soon be reunited in the pub gardens x
