Glossier | what did I get?

Firstly, apologies for the delay in getting this blog post out! I know I did an Instagram poll mid-January and before I knew it, we're at the end of Feb...

After an amazing Christmas in the Dominican Republic, we headed to New York for New Years. We knew that for the few days we were there, we needed to get some shopping done because what better place to treat yourself? I knew that the Glossier flagship store is based in New York, so took the opportunity to add it to the agenda (yes, we had an agenda) when we were in the area.

I thought, ah, it opens at 11, so we'll get there for opening. I didn't expect to queue for half an hour, just to even get into the shop... But apparently this is what happens and we were lucky with how little we waited.

Glossier want shopping and their store to be an immersive and intimate experience, hence the one-in-one-out system... The whole idea of the shop was that all products were testers and we were able to go round and try everything free will.

The shop was like a big room in heaven. All products were organised into sections, they had a room dedicated to getting a pic for the gram and an MUA station. Once we had a snoop, we would then place our order with a member of the Glossier staff, before collecting our products at the exit desk.

So what did I get?

The milky jelly cleanser is a 'gentle-yet-effective' creamy gel face wash, perfect for all skin types. With five skin conditioners, the formula won't leave the skin irritated or tight.

This cleanser has been such an exciting addition to my skincare routine. Aside from the fact that the packaging is stunning, the formula is so nice to work with, taking off any makeup easily and softly. I'm excited to use it more and will post updates!

Good to know: hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, safe for the eye area, ophthalmologist tested, appropriate for all skin types, soap-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, cruelty-free, non-comedogenic and vegan.

The Balm Dotcom is a 'Top Rated' for Glossier, packed with antioxidants and natural emollients which help nourish dry, chafed skin. In 8 different shades, the waxy texture stays in place to seal in moisture, leaving lips looking smooth and hydrated.

I went for their Berry flavoured balm dotcom, which has a dark berry tint to it. I've really loved using it when I go for my 'no-makeup-makeup look' and I totally get why it's a popular product for Glossier. It also compliments my chosen cloud paint shade 'storm' really nicely, completing any natural makeup look!

Good to know: hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, long-lasting moisture, cruelty-free.

Another Glossier 'Top Rated' product is their Cloud Paint, a buildable cream-gel cheek blush that applies to the skin easily and seamlessly. Available in 6 different shades to work across a wide range of skin tones, the pillowy formula instantly blends into a natural, flushed-from-within glow.

I'd seen cream cheek blush for a while and since getting back into wearing blush, I thought I'd hop on the bandwagon and try out a cloud paint. I received a small tester when I ordered my Future Dew (I will get to this later, best 'till last aye) and 'storm' was included. I was immediately impressed with the formula and colour and loved how well it blended out. I knew that if I were to buy one, it would be this. Although I don't wear makeup often, this is so nice to add to any skincare or makeup routine. Storm works well with my skin tone and adds a healthy colour to my face. I'm loving it and would highly recommend trying a cheek cream!

Recommended from a friend who introduced me to Glossier, I wanted to try their stretch concealer after seeing how nice it looked on her! With a buildable formula, the concealer claims to cover everything, from dark circles to blemishes and redness, leaving a dewy, glowy finish. Available in 12 shades, the adaptable mineral pigments give a brightening effect and blend seamlessly into the skin for natural-looking coverage. The elastic micro waxes in the formula move with your skin, instead of caking on top of it, leaving a flawless finish. I decided to get G6 for a more tanned makeup look and G9 for everyday use to brighten my undereye.

I really struggle with dark circles and have since I can remember. Whether it's because I'm dehydrated (and I'm fully aware I don't drink enough water so I'm not helping myself) or not getting enough sleep, no amount of eye cream can save them, they just never seem to budge. Since I don't wear makeup at work, my MAC concealer with a fuller coverage doesn't sit on my skin as well as you'd expect. Since using the stretch concealer, the pink undertones balance out my dark circles and the concealer absorbs into my skin the perfect amount, leaving dewy coverage. I'm impressed so far, but looking forward to using it with more makeup.

I've read recently that traditional scrub exfoliators and beginning to show more harm than good. Unlike physical scrubs, Solution uses a 10% blend of skincare acids to "unglue" deal skin and sweep it away, leaving the complexion smoother, softer and glowier. This Glossier skin perfector solution is a gentle way to slough away dead skin to reveal a fresh, smooth complexion. Daily use is said to help improve the appearance of blemishes, visible redness, and enlarged pores.

I've always been cautious in over-exfoliating, so haven't yet adopted this into my everyday skincare routine. The few times I've tried it, I have been impressed! I was really excited to try a solution exfoliator after learning about the harms in scrubs and this hasn't disappointed. So far so good, I may up my usage of it soon...

The name says it all really. It is a deeply moisturising, yet fast-absorbing face cream for both day or night that melts right into the skin. Rich in ceramides and fatty acids that reinforce skin's moisture barrier and lock in moisture over time, the anti-redness complex soothes the skin. If that wasn't enough for a priming moisturiser, the oxygenating agent breathes life into stressed complexions, visibly improving skin's texture and leaving a clean, dewy and balanced finished.

As previously mentioned, I'm a self-confessed de-hydrated lil goblin who just doesn't drink water. Apparently 15 cups of tea a day just isn't sufficient. I know that it takes it's toll on my bags and skin, so finding a hydrating moisturiser is always perfect for me. The formula is super velvety and doesn't leave an oily residue, fully absorbing into the skin. I really like to work this in before applying bb cream as it applies everything so seamlessly on top.

Since New York I've also got...

The next product I wanted to talk about is the Glossier Future Dew. I ordered it a few months ago after a friend recommended it to me and I've been obsessed ever since. I will be doing a blog post on my 'winter skincare favourites' which this will also be included in, but I thought it was convenient to introduce it now.

Another product that was seen looking incredible on a friend, but also all over Instagram was the Future Dew oil/serum hybrid. With nourishing oils, this product is the shortcut to the way your skin looks after a full skincare routine: dewy, glowing, cared-for, all in one long-wearing product. With a moisturised look that lasts up to 12 hours, the powerful plant-based extracts work to make the skin look brighter, instantly and over time. The perfect last step in your skincare routine.

I save the Future Dew for my morning routine, purely because I don't want any product going to waste with people not seeing the results. I don't think there's been a day I haven't put this on. The formula really is the perfect oil/serum mix and has a pink undertone, giving slight coverage with a super smooth consistency. When on holiday, I don't want to wear makeup in the day by the pool, so this is the perfect alternative, giving me a natural glow under my sunscreen. Love Love Love, couldn't recommend more.

After a day-trip to London, we couldn't not go to the Glossier Pop-Up in Covent Garden. I had been eyeing up the Super Duo for a while and also the Super Pure serum. Because they didn't have Super Pure and I was also getting a lighter shade of the Stretch Concealer, I managed to persuade myself to just get the Super Bounce.

Heavyweight hydrating with a featherweight feel. Made with three molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid that soaks into the skin without any stickiness or residue, this product is a dream.

With soothing Pro-Vitamin B5, the formula helps to keep skin soft, smooth and healthy-looking; Ideal for long-haul flights, dry conditions or anything else that zaps skin of its "bounce".

I've used this every single day since I got it and I'm seeing and feeling the difference. As you're well aware now, I don't drink water and it leaves my skin super de-hydrated and my bags super-dark :))) The thin, silky consistency helps the product to absorb into the skin, perfect to wear under makeup for deep hydration.

I like to pat and push the product onto my face, to ensure it's really working its way into my skin. Basically, if they're as good as this, get me the Super Glow and Super Pure ASAP.
